Sunday Practice Instead

Okay, okay... a few people pointed out that we would be more sore on Monday after being electrified by lightning on Saturday (see the weather forecast: thunderstorms!) than we would be after practicing on Sunday.  Please consider this to be a confirmation that Saturday's practice is rescheduled to Sunday at 1:00, just north of that train.  Hope to see you there.

Hi,

You guys have been great at ponying up the t-shirt fees. Thank you - I
really appreciate the timeliness. I still need to get three people to
pay up (you know who you are). Our t-shirts are being fast-tracked so
we might get them in time for June 9th - our third game ever!

Opposites on the Colour Wheel

Speaking of the game, it looks like it's at 7:30 against the Grape

The game is not yet confirmed, however. So perhaps there is a chance we
will continue our undefeated streak for yet another week. :)

Sunday May 25th Practice

I realized that the Teddy Bears Picnic is at Assiniboine Park this sunday
so parking would likely be an issue, so my other team decided to move our
practice to Shaftsbury HighSchool instead.
Its not to far from Assiniboine Park its just down Shaftsbury Blvd a bit.
so sorry for the late notice but the practice will now be on Sunday at 1pm
at Shaftsbury Highschool.

Practice this weekend!

Well if we wanna keep our undefeated streak going I'd say we should have
a practice, either that or hope for another rainy Monday! So yeah, I'd
still be up for having a practice on Saturday! Could someone post a
confirmation as to whether or not were having the practice as well as
mention where the practice will be?
and whether we have a practice on Saturday or not, my other team is
having a practice on Sunday at 1 in Assiniboine Park, so your all
welcome to come out to that one too! We practice at the south side of
the field just off locomotive drive.

I was thinking about the same place as last time on either: Thursday, Friday or Saturday.  I don’t think Sunday is a good idea as we are all sore for game on Monday…if we have one that is….

T-Shirts Ordered!

We have ordered t-shirts. The delivery date on them is June 10th.
It'll cost $13.66 each. Tracy & I will get back to each person on their
actual cost, as many of us overpaid by a few dollars on the league fees
earlier. Yay t-shirts! Now we have to start looking for those yellow
headbands...

Ultimate T-shirts

So here's the scoop with the tshirts:

We're going to have to order the Gildan tshirts in order to qualify for a price break.  We're ordering 'Yellow Haze', because it is the only yellow available in unisex and women's fits.

We've also been able to reduce the number of colours for the printing to two from three.

This means that a standard unisex shirt will come to $11.87 before taxes.  I believe that there is a price difference for the women's tshirt and oversize shirts.

Our goal is to have the order for tshirts placed by Tuesday, and it will be a couple of weeks turnaround time to get them.  Don't forget to wear a yellow shirt to the next game (which is presumably this holiday Monday).

If you wish to see what the unisex tshirts are like, Tracy has a couple of the Journey shirts in her office.  We will take them to the game on Monday, if there is one, to show the non-Frantic people for fitting.

Tonight

Hey Everyone!

Unless otherwise notified, the game is still on. Yes, we play when it rains, snows, etc. I know the league is very concerned about field conditions though, so they might cancel tonight if they think playing on them will wreak them. I will keep everyone posted if I hear anything about cancellations. If you don't hear from me again - Game is on!

Also, Scott was right as far as I can tell - When at Maple Grove go straight the whole way - don't turn right at the split off point on the dirt road. It look like we play right across from a parking lot. 7:00. Who can't make it?

Also, there is a kick-off event at Winn City Pub tonight. Fort Garry Beer squad is going to be there with prizes and stuff. Let's not sit on the patio though - on account of both the rain of water and rain of gunfire I hear runs amuck around there...scary!

Please keep in mind that we want to minimize printing costs, so keep the

1:00, same spot in Assiniboine Park as the doomed Snow Day Practice.

I think it might be a good idea to do it Saturday because:
1) Sunday is Mother's Day
2) it will give my leg muscles Sunday to recover for our first game on
Monday (after the last practice my legs were sore until Wednesday :D )

I got the first schedule at the captain’s meeting last night.  There are three games on it and they do this so that they can move teams around into proper divisions after the first three games.  They are as follows.  Please check the website for field locations and maps.

Weather and fields

Hey Team,

So i woke up and saw what it looks like outside... As inspired by Tracy
wearing mittens and still managing to throw and catch at last practice,
I think it would be prudent to cancel today's practice.

Main reasons being:

a.) It's cold and wet.
b.) If it actually warmed up in the next 2 hours, the ground would
probably be pretty soft and we might tear up the field - which MODS
doesn't like.

Let me know if anyone is adamant about practicing today =)

Snow Day!

Well looks like were having another one of those beautiful May Snow Days that Winnipegers seem to love so much!
And it would be a shame to waste such a beautiful snow day by being outside playing frisbee in the park, so I'm going to go ahead and, as you've probably guessed, cancel our practice today.

Sunday May 4th Practice

We're practicing with Brett McLaughlin's other ultimate team on Sunday,
May 4th at 1:00.

He tells me that there are a lot of beginners on his team, too.

Plus, the current forecast is that it will be 19 degrees out, so please
put on your shorts and come on out!

We're meeting at the south end of the field that has the pavillion at
its northwest corner, the conservatory at the southwest end, and the
french formal gardens on its southeast corner. You know, right next to
the fenced-off train?
