Sorry, I'm in a rush...
This only pertains to teams playing at our fields tonight.
The gate is almost certainly not open.
The lock was switched on the fence this weekend and we don't have access to
a key at this moment.

I really apologize but it looks like you will have to park on the road and
walk in to the fields.
We are fighting with the city to rectify this situation but there is as
always a lot of red tape.

Dang. The attachment didn't work out.  Our game is at WUL3 next week at 7:00.  WUL is Maple Grove but you drive to the right when the road splits (Pember - where you went last time).

Hey Captains,

Attached is an excel sheet with the next game on it.
Look at the "MON Seeding Game" tab.

The divisions have not been altered or set yet.
So in most cases people are playing teams from different divisions etc...

I will try my best to get teams into the appropriate spot based on the info
I have.
This game will be on the site in the next day or two.
***Note the new field location CD...Crescent Drive Park*** The map is not on
the site yet but will be soon.

If you have any outstanding fees or any players who are not registered yet
you need to get on this.
Teams who do not complete this process prior to July risk losing points in
the standings.
We will be sending out another payment update soon.
Any player who does not have a MODS symbol by their name is not paid.
Any player who has a yellow icon has not updated their membership.

Touchers Theme Song?

Last night at the game, someone suggested that we use M.C. Hammer's 'Can't Touch This' as a song for the Base Touchers.  It got me thinking about other songs with the verb touch in them.  Problem is, I'm not musically inclined, and all I could think of was Blondie's 'I Touch Myself' song.

Any one else know of other touching songs?  I think it might be funny to compile a playlist on someone's iPod and play it during halftime or something...

Let me know if I am way off base here.  :)

Tonight's Game - June 16

Hey Guys -

It's back to the originally scheduled game. MG#3. Check out the locale online. Maple Grove park is at St. Mary's and the perimeter. Go down the dirt road that runs parallel (on the north side) to the perimeter. When the road split - keeps going straight (not to the right). It's a bit of a long ways down that road but it opens up into a lot of fields at the end.

Hello Captains,

MOTHER NATURE has not been kind.
The fields are saturated and with the rain continuing it is only getting
worse.
The Rugby Park has canceled their fields already and with no reprieve in
sight I am forced to do the same.
I am very sorry for these circumstances.
Next week we will (keep your fingers crossed) play the original week 1
schedule.
This is still listed on the site as May 19th.

Due to the 3 rain outs we will lose a round essentially.
After next week we will only have 8 weeks (not counting August Long).
7 of those are for the bracket of 8 round robin.

Which leaves us with 1 week to try to help determine seeding for that round.
If you have additional info for about your teams status (i.e. you've had
bad attendance and your record could be better than it shows) let me know.

It will be difficult for me to properly seed teams for the round of 8
with so little information.

Good news....
We have a new field at Crescent Drive Park (off Pembina just south of
McGillivray) this will allow us to take A1 out of rotation which has
become a less than ideal playing surface.

3 things

1) We are currently seeking someone with a backyard and a BBQ near
Churchill Drive who would be willing to host a little Captains Hat feast.
MODS would supply all the food and drinks.
Please contact me if you or anyone you know could do this. (the date for
this is Saturday June 21st)

2) BEAT THE SKEETERS
There's plenty of room in the tournament and it's a great opportunity
for anyone who has never played a tournament to try it.
Just because your whole team can't do it doesn't mean you should give up.
There are lots of partial teams that could merge to form teams.
You and / or your players will learn more in 1 tournament than you will
in an entire summer of league games.
So if you have partial team or a few players who are interested please
contact me so I can set people up.
There will be different skill divisions so you don't have to worry about
the level.
Myth: only touring players play in tournaments... TOTALLY false.
Tournaments by and large are more spirited than league and give teams
the chance to go with themes etc...
Playing with new people is always a great way to improve your game.
If nothing else please makes sure that your players are at least aware
of the tournament. (June 14 -15 / Assiniboine Park)

3) Flood Intermediate Co-ed Skills Clinic (Sunday June 22nd 11am...
10:40 registration)
Last year nearly 70 people came out and things went very well.
These years topics include: West Coast Offense, Man D, How to protect
against the huck and a gender specific layout clinic.
Send your captain, send your rookies.... send your whole team.
This will take place (weather depending) at our new MODS fields (need
that soft grass for the layouts).
The cost is $5... again if nothing else please spread the word.

I hope your season is going well. (my apologies to people who captain
multiple teams as you will receive this more than once)
